How many local jobs will the Baseball Village create?
The Fremont Baseball Village will create 13,000 full-time annual equivalent construction jobs, and 1,762 full-time annual equivalent non-construction related jobs, according to an economic impact study performed last year. The Athletics team headquarters will create an additional 430 jobs in addition to the thousands of jobs created by the retail, restaurant and office components of the Village.
From Tina and Zeny
We were wondering about job oportunities. Where would we look for info? Thank you!
Thank you for your note, Tina and Zeny. We are grateful for your interest in working with the A’s at Fremont, once the project is approved. The Village will generate significant jobs and revenue for Fremont. Today, and in the future, the A’s also employ hundreds of seasonal stadium workers as well. For team employment opportunities for the rest of this season, you might visit the official Oakland A’s website at www.oaklandathletics.com.
Thank you for giving us an opportunity to provide you with this information, and also emphasize the beneficial economic impacts of the project for Fremont.

What kind of revenue is projected for the city?
The Baseball Village will produce $15 million per year in redevelopment area generated real estate taxes and an additional $3.6 million per year in sales taxes and other revenue which provides new revenue to Fremont’s general fund.
Who pays for the new stadium?
The anticipated ballpark will be built with a combination of private equity and the application of the value of land use entitlements that will be generated by the overall project. The public assistance sought will be in the form of processing the development activity in the most efficient manner possible, the agreement that benefits generated solely by the development will in part or in total be used to facilitate the development program in a manner that will not impose on General Fund or Bonding issues on local government, and other aspects of public-private cooperation that will stand the test of public acceptance.

Do you have an aerial drawing available of the village and ballpark layout?
Chris, Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. We have posted some aerial photos of the site, and illustrations of our proposed use. This information is also available in our Development Application with the City of Fremont. I would very much like to become a season ticket holder at the new stadium. How do I start the process of purchasing/getting in the queue for 2 club level tickets and will you have a visual seating video much like the SF Giants made for their season ticket holders?
With a projected seating capacity of approximately 32,000, Cisco Field will be the most intimate venue in the Major Leagues. It will include approximately 107 suites, including 66- four-person mini-suites and 41- 16-person suites.
We currently have an offering whereby new season ticket holders can establish priority seating at Cisco Field with the purchase of a full season Grand Slam ticket package, located in the Plaza Level or better, at the McAfee Coliseum. According to this program, patrons must maintain their ticket plan with the A's until the opening of the new ballpark to qualify. Current seat location and duration of ticket ownership are the primary considerations for seating assignments at Cisco Field. However, all seat assignments are at the sole discretion of the Oakland A's and are conditioned upon the completion of Cisco Field.
With Cisco Systems as the naming rights partner, there will be cutting edge technological amenities fans can look forward to. The specific technology that will be deployed in the stadium is still to be determined. However, the ballpark will certainly have a fully-converged-IP network and Cisco's technology will be used to enhance every facet of the ballpark. Thank you again for your interest.

When will information be available on the purchase of housing that will be developed? What are the target prices? Also how can I find out information on opening a retail/ or sports bar type establishment in the Baseball village?
Paul, thank you for your enthusiasm and interest in the proposed Baseball Village concept. We believe our project will appeal to a broad range of potential homeowners, but given that the ballpark and initial housing phase (once approved by the City) won’t be on the market for at least three or four years, we unfortunately are not able to be more specific on pricing at this time. It will take about another year before we decide on the precise mix and density of the various housing areas around the Baseball Village.
Our goal is to create a special place for the people who work and live in Fremont and the surrounding communities. As noted in this website, the proposed residential neighborhood includes 3,150 new residences (15% of which will be designated affordable units) designed as a unique, pedestrian-friendly community that provides a diverse network of open spaces. Included in the residential portion of the project is a brand new, technologically advanced elementary school. The latest advancements in green building and sustainable development practices will be utilized.
We are honored by your interest in opening a retail venue. As the project moves forward and is approved, we will look for opportunities to involve both national retailers and locally owned businesses as part of the village. We will be sure to save your contact information. Thank you!

I would like to get continued information on the park and housing in the area.
Sandra, Thank you for your note and enthusiasm for the recreational and housing opportunities our project will provide. It is anticipated that we will be introducing a series of neighborhood parks as part of the project. These parks will include recreation facilities and other community venues to serve the needs of Fremont residents. These decisions will be made in partnership with your City Council with input from residents.
If approved by the City, we believe our project will appeal to a broad range of potential homeowners. I live within a mile from the proposed park. How will the increased traffic affect my commute from work?
Thank you for your question, Paul. We are working hard to make sure there are various transportation alternatives for our fans during the 81 A’s home games. The good news is that the majority of the proposed baseball games fall outside the typical traffic peak period, with 42 of the 81 home game season occurring on weekday evenings (7:05PM Starts). Even our 13 weekday afternoon games will be outside the typical peak periods with games spanning from 1:00PM to 3:45PM. We anticipate that increased traffic from the proposed development will create minimal impacts over what you experience today, and significantly less transportation impacts than the current approved land use project.
On game days, there will be express shuttles to BART, Capitol Corridor and ACE Train services. For residents, utilizing the proposed new train station at Pacific Commons to access the ACE Train or Capitol Corridor will ease commutes to Silicon Valley. The rail lines run immediately adjacent to proposed Baseball Village. Finally, the extension of BART to Warm Springs will be just minutes from the ballpark and will alleviate traffic generated by the project.
As we move forward, please know that we have engaged a team of top transportation planners to help us develop a thoughtful plan to address this important question. The City of Fremont has also hired transportation consultants to look at any proposed solutions independently. On this website, you can read about our transportation vision and goals. Click on the various links, including the City of Fremont website, for more information as we move forward.

I know where you can get two great used monorail trains to connect to BART! I'm the President/Founder of The Monorail Society.
Kim, Thank you for your note. I am a big fan of trains and mass transit as well. We are working very hard to ensure viable transit connections to the Fremont Baseball Village. As to the viability of a monorail system, such an endeavor would likely have to wait for approval and funding after our project is in place. It is my understanding that virtually all of the existing short and mid-term federal and state transit money is focused on extending BART and other transit projects.
I appreciate and applaud your leadership in promoting transit. I will look forward to exploring your website as well.

How will the A’s contribute to the rest of Fremont?
The A’s are committed to being more than just a winning baseball team. We plan to contribute to our community though community funds for charitable organizations, local scholarship programs, programs to encourage reading and math in grades 1-8, a variety of sports programs – and that’s only the beginning. In addition, our partner Cisco Systems has increased its outreach in the Fremont area.

What is the history of the land being used for the Fremont Baseball Village?
Currently approved for an intensive office development, the Baseball Village project is expected to have fewer overall quality of life impacts on an annual basis. The Pacific Commons development area originally included 670 acres of developable land area to the west of I-880. In June 2000, Catellus dedicated almost 300 acres, or 45% of the land for wetland, ecological parks and recreation areas. After a thorough Environmental Impact Report, and the dedication of the ecological park area, the remaining Pacific Commons property was opened for the development of 8.3 million square feet of office and R&D buildings. Due to changing market conditions in Silicon Valley, Pacific Commons was partially re-zoned for retail related uses and has developed approximately 800,000 square feet of successful retail space.
What transportation and infrastructure improvements have already been made to accommodate the previously approved office development and Pacific Commons?
Over $115 million for roads and streets, utilities, sidewalks, an ecological park, recreational areas and other infrastructure improvements have been completed by private land owners to support the approved office and R&D project. Additionally, over $178 million is being invested for the completion of the Mission/I-880 Interchange and HOV Lanes (Fall 2008) to support the future build-out of the Pacific Commons development area.
Who currently owns the land that will be used for the Fremont Baseball Village?
The land area proposed for the Baseball Village development is controlled by Cisco Systems and the Athletics, and is currently approved for approximately 4,600,000 square feet of high-density R&D offices. The A’s have identified an opportunity to work with the City of Fremont with regard to the previously planned Cisco campus property at Pacific Commons in order to create a unique mixed-use Ballpark Village project.
